As a Nationally ranked dog agility competitor, I sustained a torn meniscus injury only 10 weeks prior to a prestigious National Invitational event my dog and I had campaigned heavily to qualify for.  Little did I know at the time how this heartbreaking development would propel me forward on my journey as a fitness professional.  I began diligently seeking a science-based approach to strengthen and prevent recurrent injury and enhance athletic performance for myself as well as my friends in the sport, as we were frequently sidelined from competition due to injuries.  I had the incredible opportunity to learn from some of the very top fitness professionals in the industry along the way.

Through my passionate pursuit of excellence, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience which have benefited me personally in my quest for improved health, strength, and fitness.  This journey led me to the study of movement screens, gait, posture and balance assessments, and corrective and functional exercise systems which I am able to offer to my clients.

I earned my Personal Trainer Certification through the highly respected National Academy of Sports Medicine, followed by additional NASM credentials as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Senior Fitness Specialist.  I furthered my studies of corrective exercise and functional fitness by becoming certified in Gray Cook’s Functional Movement Systems.  As I applied the principles I learned to my own body, I was rewarded with significant improvements in my resilience, fitness, and athletic performance.  I hold additional Certifications as a Functional Aging Institute Specialist and Group Specialist, Black Rank TRX & TEAM CAMPS Instructor, Level 1 & 2 Dynamic Variable Resistance Training Coach, StrongFirst Kettlebell Coach, Power Pilates Mat Instructor, SilverSneakers Classic, Circuit, Yoga, Stability, Boom Strength and Boom Mind Instructor, and Precision Nutrition Coach.

The improvements I experienced led me to a strong dedication to customizing safe, effective, science-based programs specific to the goals of my clients.  I inspire, assist and motivate individuals to build a strong foundation through improved nutrition, adequate rest, stress reduction, and movement appropriate to what each individual body needs for improved movement quality and a strong sense of well-being.

I am a member of the IDEA Health and Fitness Association, Functional Movement Systems, Medical Fitness Network, Arthritis Foundation, and the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation. 

My current favorite activities include walking the beach and hiking the hills with my cherished Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Charm, gourmet cooking, and pairing fine wine with food.

My greatest rewards come from seeing my clients look, feel and function at their best as they enjoy their hobbies, sports, and activities of daily living more fully!
